The
newly-created iShares S&P 100 Index Fund began trading on the
Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) on 10/27/2000. The exchange-traded
fund (ETF) will be managed by Barclays Global Investors (BGI) and
will trade under the CBOE symbol OEF. The iShares S&P
100 Index Fund will trade only on the CBOE, and has an expense ratio
of 0.20%.
"The
expansion of the exchange-traded funds market to the CBOE is a testament
to the growing popularity of this product," said Lee Kranefuss,
CEO of BGI's Individual Investor Business.
"The iShares
S&P 100 Index Fund offers the ability to establish long-term investments
based on the market performance of the top 100 companies in the
United States, with the ease of a single transaction," said
CBOE Chairman and CEO William J. Brodsky.
