Releases Latest Cap Gains Estimates

The Vanguard Group released updated estimates of
year-end capital gains distributions for its equity and balanced
funds. The estimates are updated through the end of November 2000.
Vanguard reports that out of its 56 equity and balanced
funds, 21 will have no capital gains for 2000. Seventeen funds
are expected to have distributions of less than 5% of their net
asset value (NAV). Vanguard did not indicate which funds will
experience those distributions.
Seven Vanguard Funds are estimated to have capital
gains distributions over 10% relative to NAV. These funds are:
Vanguard Explorer, Vanguard Growth, Vanguard Windsor, Vanguard
Strategic Equity, Vanguard Extended Market, Vanguard Morgan Growth,
and Vanguard SmallCap Index.
