I am very busy and don't have time to pour over investment books all day. But, as a beginning indexer, I have a lot to learn. That's where this book came in handy. I was able to read it in a few days in the few minutes I have to sit down and read. It would probably take an hour or so to read in one sitting. The author's use of fictional characters was particulary helpful in explaining the origin of Index Funds. After reading this book I feel better informed about investing in index funds--indexing is certainly a great way to go.

The book also has good information about comparing mutual funds. The author does a good job showing how to compare the costs of investing and avoid paying too much for your mutual funds.

If you want a quick, informative read I recommend this book. The price is somewhat high for what you get, but if you value your time as I do it may be worth it.
